Issues
Issue: The current systems are slow, outdated, and hard to navigate especially for working families, seniors, and small business owners.
My Plan:
- Launch a modern, user-friendly online portal for document filing, records access, and real-time updates
- Implement multi-layer cybersecurity protections to secure sensitive public data
- Introduce mobile-access tools for on-the-go access to vital records
✅
2. Poor Customer Service & Communication
Issue: Many residents experience long wait times, confusing processes, and lack of clear communication.
My Plan:
- Establish a customer service help desk with live phone and online chat support
- Offer multilingual assistance to better serve Fort Bend’s diverse population
- Create clear, simplified guides for common services like deeds, DBAs, and marriage licenses
✅
3. Lack of Transparency & Public Awareness
Issue: Many residents don’t understand what the County Clerk’s Office does or how to access its services.
My Plan:
- Host regular community education workshops and public town halls
- Build a transparent online dashboard showing office performance, service timelines, and public data
- Launch a “Know Your Clerk” campaign to promote awareness and accessibility
✅
4. Equity & Access Gaps
Issue: Some communities—especially low-income families, non-English speakers, and rural residents—face barriers accessing Clerk services.
My Plan:
- Expand satellite access points and mobile clerk services in underserved areas
- Ensure ADA-compliant technology and facilities
- Prioritize equity-focused hiring and training inside the Clerk’s Office
✅
5. Long Processing Times & Paper-Based Bottlenecks
Issue: Manual processing causes unnecessary delays and increases chances of errors.
My Plan:
- Move to a digital-first record management system
- Integrate e-signatures and automated workflows to speed up internal operations
- Train staff on workflow best practices to reduce processing time
